Thousands of people turned out in the heat to support the launch of Yorkshire Wildlife Park's new charity. The hot weather could not have come at a better time as the award-winning attraction celebrated the formation of its own conservation charity on Animal Action Day.

The award winning Park raised more than £10,000 so far - with donations still coming in. While visitors almost cleared stocks of ice creams the animals did their best to cool off from the near 90 degree temperatures.
