Man found guilty of manslaughter for killing of church organist

A jury at Sheffield Crown Court has found a man guilty of manslaughter of a church organist.

Alan Greaves was attacked on Christmas Eve 2012 on his way to Midnight Mass.

The jury of six men and six women found Ashley Foster, 22, not guilty of murder after almost 13 hours of deliberations, but reached a guilty of manslaughter verdict instead.

22-year-old Jonathan Bowling had already admitted murdering the 68-year-old.
