Seventy employers from all over Yorkshire will gather at Nostell Priory in Wakefield today to meet members of the Army to learn what veterans and reservists have to offer them. It's to help those leaving the forces find work after serving.
It is also the first signing of a Corporate Covenant in the region. Armed Forces Corporate Covenants are a voluntary pledge of support from businesses and charitable organisations to the armed forces community.
Brigadier Greville Bibby CBE who heads up the Army regular and reserve troops in Yorkshire and the North East said:
"As we are increasing the number of Army reservists in the region, we are keen to offer Yorkshire employers the chance to "Meet their Army".
We hope this will give them a clearer understanding of the military and the support they need and also the benefits that a Reservist or a veteran can provide to a business."
