Nottinghamshire Police’s Underwater Search Unit found the body of the teenage boy at about 10.15am in Ratcher Hill Quarry.
A Post Mortem examination took place last night but the results are expected to take several weeks to be confirmed.
Police are awaiting the formal identification which is likely to be confirmed by the end of the week.
We appreciate that this will be an emotional and trying time for the local community but until we can make formal identification we ask for your patience and sensitivity towards all involved.
Ciaran’s family have asked that the media respect their privacy at this time.
