New lamps for old

North East Lincolnshire has a brighter future thanks to an £8.2-million project that will see the borough’s street lights upgraded using more cost-effective state-of-art LED technology.

North East Lincolnshire Council’s development services regeneration partnership is set to replace 16,500 traditional street lamps with low energy LED lights during the next two years.

The phasing out the orange sodium lamps and replacing them with white-light LEDs will result in a clearer and cleaner light that improves visibility, whilst also making substantial savings in energy and carbon emissions.
