A dog is recovering after being found emaciated with a broken leg in the Yorkshire Dales.

The young adult Saluki, nicknamed Wufra, was stranded on Buckden Pike for up to two weeks.

It is thought the lurcher-Saluki cross, had chased a rabbit up Buckden Pike which is 2,300 feet above sea level.

The animal was finally saved by a fell rescue team who carried him a mile to safety on a stretcher. He is now recovering at a vet's in Skipton, as Calendar's Sarah Clark reports
