The family of murder victim Charlotte Piccaver, stabbed to death after a row over rent, have spoken of their relief at the guilty verdict in the murder trial of Mehmet Ozen. Speaking after the verdict, they said:
"After months of suffering and anguish, it is a relief to hear the guilty verdict.
Charlotte was a loving, loyal daughter to all her family and friends. Her death leaves a void that will never be filled but the guilty verdict allows us to start looking forward, rather than being in limbo, and we thank everyone involved in the case".
Detective Chief Inspector Martin Holvey, who led the investigation, said:
"This again brings into the public domain, the danger of knives, sadly leaving two families without their loved ones this Christmas."
