The number of job vacancies on offer in Yorkshire has gone up.

With the increase in job postings, competition for jobs has fallen by 12% while the number of applications has decreased by 6%.

Construction and transport and logistics have seen the biggest increases in jobs with an increase in job postings of 37% and 45% respectively. Other booming industries in 2013 include IT (up 14%) and the media and creative industries (20%).

Clearly Yorkshire businesses are feeling more optimistic about the future. The rise in vacancies also means there is less competition per job, which is great news for jobseekers.

In Yorkshire we have seen job postings in key sectors like construction and transport increase dramatically and we have seen new homes, hotels and offices springing up throughout last year, which is a strong sign that business people see the region as a safe place to invest.
