Emergency river safety summit to take place next week

North Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan has called an urgent River Safety Summit following recent tragedies in York.

Student Megan Roberts was found dead in the River Ouse on March the second after disappearing whilst on a night out in the city.

Underwater searches have been taking place for Ben Clarkson, who was reported missing earlier this month.

The emergency summit will take place on Tuesday, 25th March, 2014 and involve representatives from the council, both universities, police and voluntary groups. North Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner, Julia Mulligan, explains.
