Campaigners fighting plans for two windfarms in our region say they are delighted that permission for them has been refused by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. Eric Pickles MP has ruled that turbines at East Heslerton and Burton Agnes will not be built.
Some residents in both areas have been campaigning against the proposals for several years due to the impact they say the turbines would have on the landscape. The latest ruling has placed more importance on their views, going against previous recommendations by local planning officers.
