Students from Priory Witham Academy in Lincoln will be presented with awards today to recognise their completion of the Blue Skies Programme by Red Arrows pilot, Flight Lieutenant Steve Morris.

The charity was set up in memory of Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging who lost his life in August 2011 whilst completing a display at the Bournemouth Air Festival.

The charity realises his dream of helping young people overcome adversity, identify their strengths and work towards their ambitions.

Twenty five students aged 13 to 15 from the Academy have been mentored through the nine session programme by inspirational individuals from RAF Coningsby, RAF Cranwell, RAF Scampton, RAF Wittering, RAF Waddington and MoD North Luffenham.

With the help of trained personnel from across the base, these level 1 and level 2 students have been guided through problem solving, teamwork and communication tasks, which will provide the Level 1 students with credits towards a qualification in BTEC Workskills.
