Cyclist gets put through his paces: Tour de France style

A professional cyclist has been put through his paces for the most physically demanding race in world sport.

For 21 gruelling days 198 riders will travel 3,664km over some of Europe's most challenging terrain. The Tour de France isn't for the faint-hearted - and Dean Downing, a professional cyclist from Rotherham, as been founding out why.

He's never ridden the tour, but has been putting his body through a series of tests down at Leeds Metropolitan University.
