A tribute to the Sheffield's 'Women of Steel' is another step closer to reality.

More than £20,000 will be presented by the city's Cue Ball snooker charity tonight. It takes the total raised to put this statue to £136,000 - just £14,000 short of the £150,000 total needed to get the statue in place.

The plan is to have it erected in Barker's Pool, to commemorate the thousands of women who worked in Sheffield's steel factories during the World Wars.
