Police believe horse may have been 'deliberately hurt'

Officers are appealing for information about the injured horse, which was in a field near Holbeach.

It was found with a puncture wound to its rib area, while grazing in the field off Foxes Low Road.

Police believe it happened between 10am and 6pm on Sunday, June 29.

The horse has to have emergency treatment from a local vet.

The field has been examined, and officers say there appears to be no other explanation for the injury apart from it being "deliberately inflicted".
