Trainee soldier jailed for six years for trying to stab comrade

A trainee soldier who tried to stab a comrade at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire has been jailed for six years at a court martial.

Private James Farrell from Halifax

18 year old Private James Farrell from Halifax was found guilty of attempted murder last month. He plunged a knife in the bed of a fellow trainee after an alleged bullying incident.

Farrell from the 2nd infantry training battalion was also sentenced for possessing live and blank ammunition.
