Twelve injured after motorbike ploughs into crowd at Scarborough racing circuit

Three spectators have been seriously injured after two separate incidents at Oliver's Mount racing circuit in Scarborough.

A motorbike ploughed into the crowd this morning at around 10.45am. Six spectators were hurt and taken to hospital, including one who is said to be seriously injured.

North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that the rider of the motorcycle was treated at the scene.

A second crash, which is said to have happened at the same point on the circuit around three hours later injured another six spectators - including two seriously.

Following the second crash, racing was called off for the day.

Spectators at the racetrack have taken to social media to report that four air ambulances have now landed at the scene throughout the day.
