Derby midfielder Paul Green says the team must bounce back from Saturday's defeat to Watford within a win in tonight's East Midlands derby.
Nigel Clough's side have won just one of their last nine games and face a resurgent Nottingham Forest team this evening at Pride Park.
But Green says it's up to the home side to take the initiative.
"On Tuesday we have got to be lively, start really well against them and give 100%," he said.
"It is a massive game for us."
County will be buoyed by the return of first-choice left back Gareth Roberts. However Jamie Ward is excepted to miss a fourth successive match with a thigh injury.
Forest meanwhile travel down the M1 with virtually a full strength squad looking for their fourth win in six games after Saturday's 3-1 win over Millwall.
Victory this evening would see them move eight points clear of the relegation zone with ten games remaining.
