Royal Irish Regiment parade for St Patrick's Day

Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment will stage a parade at their base in Shropshire to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

Hundreds of family and friends are expected to attend the event at Clive Barracks, Tern Hill.

The county's Lord Lieutenant, Algernon Heber-Percy will take the salute as he joins family and friends of the battalion to mark the occasion.

The traditional parade will start at 10.45am and will feature four guards, each consisting of around 50 soldiers and three officers.

The commanding officer’s wife will present the Shamrocks to soldiers and officers at the event.
