West Midlands Police have arrested a 49-year-old bus driver from Birmingham after a crash involving a lorry and a bus this morning near Frankley Services on the M5.
A 35-year-old male passenger on the bus died and 40 others were injured after the collision between the two vehicles just before half past six this morning.
The driver of the lorry which was travelling from Manchester to Devon is critically ill in hospital, as is another passenger who was on the bus.
They are being treated at the major trauma unit at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.
A passenger on the bus told ITV Central it was heading to Evesham and it's thought it was taking them to work.
The bus driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving this afternoon and has now been released on police bail.
The Southbound carriageway has now reopened between junction 3 and junction 4 after being closed for most of the day to allow the recovery of the vehicles and investigations to take place.
