A Stafford-based hair academy is offering seventy new apprenticeships at its new training facility in Birmingham.

The Francesco Group will be opening its fourth academy in the city centre.

It will be set up in the basement of the former Habitat building on New Birmingham Street.

The academy is a partner of Stafford College and will offer 50 students a two-year full time course resulting in a Level 2 diploma in hair services and an NVQ level 2 in hairdressing. Another 20 students will be offered the chance to gain a modern apprenticeship on the job.

The courses will cover all techniques from cutting, colour, client care and health and safety.

"When our students graduate, we endeavour to place themin one of our 31 salons across the UK."

The Birmingham Academy is looking for new recruits to start in September 2012.
