West Midlands Ambulance Service said the 64-year-old woman from Tamworth in Stafforshire was sitting on a bench in the grounds of Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, when a car hit the wall of a WH Smith kiosk, which forms part of a foyer area in a treatment centre at the site.

Hospital staff treated her for a head injury and she was then transferred to the major trauma centre at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
