The manager of prison security company GEOAmey has appeared at Birmingham Crown Court, after a major trial was delayed yesterday.

Only two of the eight defendants in the trial of 3 men killed in Winson Green during last summer's riots, were brought to court in a prison van yesterday morning.

Mr Justice Flaux said that the company had not brought defendants to court on time was "inexcusable" and a "shambles."

He said that not bringing defendants to court on time in such a major trial "puts the whole criminal justice system into disrepute."

The judge has ordered that GEOAmey ensure the defendants are brought to court by 9.15am, for the duration of the 10 week trial.
