The Old Plough at Birstall in Leicestershire is selling dog beer by the bottle and the pub's own German Shepherd Denzil is a regular at the bar.
Denzil's master, and the master of the house, heard about dog beer from a customer and ordered in a few crates for the canines.
The beer is brewed in Holland and apparently tastes like "weak Bovril".
On a busy night there can be four or five dogs at the bar at any one time. The dog owners say the dogs like to come in with their owners to have a drink and enjoy the whole atmosphere.
At £2.50 for a half-pint bottle taking your mutt down the pub might work out more expensive than taking your mate. You'll be assured of good company of course - but remember it'll always be your round.
