Another day of disruption is expected on East Midlands Trains services today. Members of the drivers' union, ASLEF are taking strike action because of a disagreement over pensions.
Despite the industrial action the train line says it plans to run as many services as possible, however there will be some reduced services:
- A reduced hourly train service from Derby to London. These services will call at all stations, with a limited number of services extended through to Sheffield.
- An hourly train service will run from Nottingham to Leicester to connect in with services through to London.
- A train shuttle service will run from Nottingham to Grantham.
- Bus services will be provided on a number of routes including Nottingham to Lincoln, Nottingham to Mansfield Woodhouse, Derby to Matlock, Derby to Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham to Boston, Nottingham to Sleaford and Lincoln to Sleaford.
Other train operators will be accepting East Midlands Trains tickets and a full list of alternative routes can be found on their website.In%20addition,%20East%20Midlands%20Trains%20tickets%20will%20be%20accepted%20on%20a%20number%20of%20Stagecoach%20Bus%20services,%20including%20Corby%20to%20Kettering%20(X4%20service),%20Lincoln%20to%20Grimsby%20(Interconnect%203),%20Boston%20to%20Skegness%20(Interconnect%207),%20Skegness%20to%20Lincoln%20(Interconnect%206)%20and%20Spalding%20to%20Peterborough%20(Service%2037).
Any passengers with advance tickets pre-booked for a service which will not be running can use their ticket to travel on an alternative train or bus service provided by East Midlands Trains as close as possible to the original booking. Anyone who decides not to travel can receive a full refund on their ticket.
