Freedom of Nottingham

Up to 100 soldiers will march through the streets with bayonets fixed and flags flying to the beat of the Band of The Royal Engineers. Joining them on parade will be 30 Officer Cadets from the East Midlands University Officer Training Corps.

This will be the first time the Regiment and the UOTC have exercised the Freedom of the City since it was awarded in June 2011.

Accompanied by the Band of The Royal Engineers the soldiers and Officer Cadets will step off from St Mary's Church at midday.

They will march along High Pavement to Lower Pavement continuing on into Albert Street and Wheeler Gate. From there they will proceed along Angel Row into Long Row before finishing in the Old Market Square.

The Vice Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire Colonel Tim Richmond will inspect the parade before taking the salute on the Old Market Square.
