Police are are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian on the M69 motorway in Warwickshire was in collision with a car today.
Police say it happened at 6.45 this morning and involved a blue Saab car and a male pedestrian who was reported to have been on the southbound carriageway of the motorway near to the turning for the M6 at junction one.
The motorway was closed for a short time while ambulance personnel treated the man on the carriageway before he was transferred to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment.
The man, who is 29-years old, is currently undergoing treatment for internal injuries and head injuries, but his injuries are described as not life threatening.
Police are trying to establish what the man was doing on the motorway and would like to hear from anyone who was travelling on the M69 motorway, in either direction, at around 6.45am this morning who witnessed the collision or who may have seen the man at the side of the motorway before the collision taking place.
