Eighteen firefighters from West Midlands Fire Service are to take part in a five kilometre fun run, wearing their full fire kit, in aid of Cure Leukaemia today.
The race which takes place in Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield, will be started at 11am by Dave Heeley, who was the first blind person to run seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.
Money raised from the event will go towards supporting leukaemia patients at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Adam Joyce, Orange Watch Commander at Dudley Fire Station said, "We are delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile cause.
"West Midlands Fire Service supports Birmingham Children's Hospital in a number of ways throughout the year and we are always looking for new opportunities to support the fantastic work of the nursing staff and to bring hope to the many children that the hospital cares for."
