Midlanders recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours

More than 130 people across the Midlands have been honoured by the Queen.

Today's Birthday Honours list identifies people from across the region

In the world of music, Andrew Jowett, the chief executive of Symphony Hall, which celebrated its 21st birthday this week, becomes an OBE. Show jumping legend Nick Skelton from Warwickshire has also been honoured for services to equestrian sport.

Others who have been recognised include a playgroup leader and a prison officer.
