Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found on the beach at Fleetwood last night.The body of 76-year-old George Wiskin from Staffordshire was discovered by a dog walker on the beach at Fleetwood at around 5pm last night and officers are appealing for information to try andestablish the circumstances surrounding his death.Detective Chief Inspector Neil Esseen, leading the investigation said:

“We are currently trying to establish the circumstances around how Mr Wiskin died and at this stage we are treating the death as unexplained.

“We are still at the early stages of the investigation and we are trying to piece together Mr Wiskin’s movements in the hours and even days leading up to his death."We have taken the step of releasing a photograph of him in a bid to try and jog people’s memories in case anyone has seen him in the local area recently."

Police believe that Mr Wiskin may have been visiting the Blackpool area to attend a conference and are appealing for anyone in the Blackpool area with any information to get in touch.Police have a CCTV sighting of Mr Wiskin in Blackpool Town centre around 5.30pm on Wednesday 20th June and want to know where he went afterwards.
