More heavy downpours expected

A band of sharp showers will spread through the region today, we can expect some heavy downpours and the odd rumble of thunder.

As the ground is already saturated from the wet weather over the past few weeks there may be some localised flooding.

There will be some drier intervals as we move through this afternoon but not for long as another band of showers will move west to east later.

Temperatures are suffering in the cloud and rain with highs of just 16c. Those showers will spread through tonight setting us up for another showery day on Wednesday.
