The 76-year-old Hungarian, known as Charlie, had been struck a number of times with an axe-like weapon, which has never been found.

The grandfather had lived in Northamptonshire for more than thirty years.

He was popular and well known locally - often helping other Hungarian's adjust to life in England.

His family say their lives have been torn apart by his murder.

Detectives believe Charlie may have known his killer, which they say is a fact which makes it even more difficult for his family to accept.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
