After a 24 hour respite and a fine St. Swithin's Day, what next?

Just because it’s been a fine St.Swithin’s Day today does not mean that we are able to forecast dry weather now for the next 40 days.

In fact we can’t forecast dry weather for the next 40 hours, let alone 40 days!

After a 24 hour respite, the rain is on the way in again.

Any daytime showers will die away this evening, but the next system pushes up from the SW after midnight bringing increasing cloud and patchy rain across the region, temperatures in low double figures.

More persistent showers tomorrow.
