Nottingham Forest in talks to sign Stoke City's Danny Collins

Nottingham Forest's Sean O'Driscoll says he is absolutely delighted to be given a chance, in his first press conference as the manager of the club.

O'Driscoll had his first training session with the players on Monday and confirms he has had talks to bring in Stoke City defender Danny Collins and is working hard to bring others in.

The 31-year-old who can also play full-back or centre half was signed by Stoke City for £2.75million in 2009.

When asked about his new appointment as manager of Nottingham Forest and his plans he said:

“I’m a process man not an outcome man. You have to focus on the process and the outcomes will look after themselves.”

He was asked about other signings he had in mind he said:

”We’re close to one or two things but not over the line yet.”“Danny Collins has got a good reputation in the game. He’s talking toa number of clubs and we’re throwing our hat in the ring and see whathappens.“You can put names on team sheet but you still got to get them tofunction together… You’d like to think you people you bring in willbalance but you never know.“We’re looking for good characters. If you can get good characters inthen that makes the job easier.”
