Sister Mary Michael said God wanted her to have the "Cross of Love" - a scaled down version of the Glorious Cross of Dozulé in France - at her home in North Hykeham near Lincoln.

The plans were met with a mixed reaction from people living nearby.

North Kesteven District Council has now turned down the plans, saying the cross would be "inappropriate and intrusive".
