With Low Pressure firmly in charge it isn't great news for the next few days with more unsettled conditions to come, this certainly isn't the forecast we would expect for the start of August.
As for today we have two bands of rain moving north and eastwards.
The first will spread through this morning, the second will move through this afternoon and we can expect some heavy and persistent downpours.
Temperatures will be disappointing in the cloud and rain with highs of just 17 or 18c.
This evening we will see some drier, brighter conditions in southern counties before the sun sets at 8.49pm.
Elsewhere expect more patchy rain and a mild night for all with lows of 13c.
Tomorrow morning will be dry for many but we do have a band of showers moving west to east, they could be heavy and thundery in the afternoon particularly in the West Midlands.
It will be breezy tomorrow but nevertheless feel much warmer than today with highs of 23c. So far Thursday looks to be a mixture of sunshine and showers with highs of 21c that's 70f
