COVENTRY

Position last season: 23rd (Championshp)

Players in: William Edjenguele (Panetolikos, free), Kevin Malaga (Nice, free), Reece Brown (Manchester Utd, loan), Kevin Kilbane (Hull, free), John Fleck (Rangers, free), Stephen Elliott (Hearts, free), Callum Ball (Derby, loan), Adam Barton (Preston North End, undisclosed)

Players out: Johnson Clarke-Harris (Peterborough Utd, free), Courtney Richards (Brighton & Hove Albion, free), Clive Platt (Northampton Town, free), James McPake (Hibernian, free), Sammy Clingan, Hermann Hreidarsson, Danny Ireland (all released), Martin Cranie (Barnsley, free), Freddy Eastwood (Southend United, free), Gael Bigirimana (Newcastle Utd £1m), Richard Keogh (Derby County, undisclosed), Gary Deegan (Hibernian, undisclosed)

Key man: John Fleck

Title odds: 12/1

Chances: It has been all-change at the Ricoh Arena with a number of players being allowed to leave for free (as normally happens with relegation) while the more promising stars have been pinched from clubs in leagues above for small fees (Keogh, Bigirimana). A number of unknown French players have been signed which will no doubt excite the fans even if they only have Youtube clips to judge them so far. The change in personnel means Coventry may maintain the lack of organisation which dogged them last season. Despite the demands of the fans to return at the first time of asking it could be a tough ask to do so automatically, but playoffs is a realistic possibility.

NOTTS COUNTY

Position last season: 7th

Players in: Enoch Showumni (Tranmere Rovers, free), Bartosz Bialkowski (Southampton, free), Gary Liddle (Hartlepool United, free), Dean Leacock (Leyton Orient, free), Jamal Campbell-Ryce (Bristol City, free), Joss Labadie (Tranmere Rovers, free), Manny Smith (Walsall, free), Yoann Arquin (Hereford Utd, free), Francois Zoko (Carlisle Utd, free), Carl Regan (Shrewsbury Town, free), Tom Williams (Free), Andre Boucaud (Luton Town, loan)

Players out: Charlie Allen (Gillingham, free), Ben Burgess (Tranmere Rovers, free), Ishmel Dermontagnac (Northampton Town, free), Mike Edwards (Carlisle Utd, free), Rob Burch, Karl Hawley, Stephen Hunt, Stuart Nelson, Sam Sodje, John Spicer, Jude Stirling (all released)

Key man: Francis Zoko

Title odds: 14/1

Chances: County have established themselves as a solid League 1 side and, after a great run towards the end of the season, pushed hard for a Playoff place before missing out. County have made a number of astute signings, including Zoko who looks like a potential star of the side and the midfield is looking strong with the additions of Showumni and Liddle. The contract dispute over Alan Judge could cast a shadow over the season and one or two strikers could be needed for an automatic push.

SHREWSBURY TOWN

Position last season: 2nd (League 2, promoted)

Players in: Paul Parry (Preston North End, free), Chris Weale (Leicester City, free), Joe Anyon (Lincoln City, free), Luke Summerfield (Cheltenham Town, free), Rob Purdle (Hereford Utd, free), Asa Hall (Oxford Utd, free), Darren Jones (Aldershot Town, free), Ryan Doble (Southampton, free), Aaron Wildig (Cardiff City, free)

Players out: Carl Regan (Notts County, free), Ben Smith (Rochdale, free), Chris Neal (Port Vale, free), Ian Sharps (Rotheram Utd), Sean McAllister (free), James Collins (Swindon Town, free), Lionel Ainsworth (Rotherham Utd, free), Shane Cansdell-Sherriff (Preston North End, free), Nicky Wroe (Preston North End, free)

Key man: Paul Parry

Title odds: 14/1

Chances: Despite promotion, a number of key players have departed from Shrewsbury including both captain and vice-captain in Sharps and Cansdell-Sherriff. Both senior goalkeepers left as well meaning the spine of the team has been significantly rejigged. Salop fans will settle for a solid mid-table finish with so many players to bed in, but do not be surprised if they are dragged into the relegation scrap.

WALSALL

Position last season: 19th

Players in: Nicky Featherstone (Hereford Utd, free), Ben Purkiss (Hereford Utd, free), James Baxendale (Doncaster Rovers, free), Connor Taylor (Aston Villa, free), Paul Downing (WBA, free), Febian Brandy (Panetolikos, free), Dean Holden (Rochdale, free), Florent Cuvelier (Stoke, free), Ashley Hemings (Wolves, free)

Players out: Darryl Westlake (Sheffield Utd, free), Emmanuele Smith (Notts County, free), Oliver Lancashire (Aldershot Town, free), Kevan Hurst (Southend Utd, free), Ryan Jarvis (Torquay, free), Mat Sadler (Crawley Town, free), Emmanuel Ledesma (Middlesbrough, free), Alex Nicholls (Northampton Town, free), Lee Beevers (Mansfield Town, free), Jamie Tank (Wolves, £26,400)

Key man: George Bowerman

Title odds: 66/1

Chances: More than 15 players have departed Walsall over the summer with an emphasis placed on youth over experience. Fans are as optimistic as they have been in a couple of seasons and will be hoping to avoid yet another relegation battle. Fans will hope George Bowerman will be their breakout star. If used correctly way and given a good level of supply he will play a major part in the coming season.
