People heading to the V Festival in Weston Park in Staffordshire are being advised to plan their journey in order to avoid delays.
The event, in its 17th year, sees The Stone Roses, The Happy Mondays and The Killers headlining.
Around 85,000 people are expected to attend the festival each day with people arriving from today.
Delays are expected on roads near Weston Park from Friday evening, including the M54 motorway.
Staffordshire Police have advised festival-goers to keep their valuables safe and follow simple safety instructions.
Paramedics at Weston Park will this year use an all-terrain vehicle to reach anyone needing medical help. West Midlands Ambulance Service are working in partnership with Venture Event Medical Management and St. John Ambulance, to ensure medical services are available onsite for the thousands attending festival.
