Olympic medallist Louis Smith to be welcomed home to Peterborough

Double Olympic medallist Louis Smith will be welcomed back to his home town of Peterborough later today.

Louis will be joined by the Mayor of Peterborough and other city council officials on an open top bus which is due to depart the Town Hall at about 2pm.

The bus will make its way to Cathedral Square arriving there around a quarter of an hour later.

It will park there for some 45 minutes allowing time for the Mayor to present Louis with some special gifts and for members of the public to get his autograph and have their photo taken with him.

Gymnast Louis , 23, who lives close by, in Eye, won an individual silver and a team bronze at the London 2012 Olympics.
