Two people have been arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm after a shooting at a remote home in Melton Mowbray.
The man who is 35 and his 43-year-old wife, were disturbed by a break-in in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Welby area.
It is believed that the homeowner was in possession of a legally-owned shotgun.
Leicestershire Police were called to the house at around 12.30 am on Sunday. Shortly after, the Ambulance service received a call to treat a man who's wounds were constant with shotgun injuries. A second man presented himself at Leicester Royal Infirmary later that day.
All four men were then arrested at the hospital on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
All six are due to be questioned today.
