Ken Clarke the MP for Rushcliffe who has lost his position as Justice Secretary in David Cameron's Cabinet says he is happy to be moving to his new job as Minister without Portfolio .

It's a lesser role but will keep him close to the beating heart of the coalition government in an advisory position.

His is one of several moves for Midlands MPs.

The Harborough MP Edward Garnier has confirmed that he has been removed as Solicitor General.

Meanwhile, Owen Paterson, the MP for North Shropshire is replaced as Northern Ireland Secretary by Theresa Villers, a former rail minister.

There is no word yet regarding the Meriden MP Caroline Spelman - it's expected she might lose out on her job as Environment Secretary.

Mr Cameron is keeping in place those in the top jobs at the Home office, the Treasury and at the Foreign Office.

He has always said he wants to bring more senior women into government roles. He will be revealing more as the day unfolds.
