Two men who are suspected of aggravated burglary at a home in Melton Mowbray have been discharged from hospital after suffering gun shot wounds.
One of the men aged 33, was discharged last night (September 3) the second was discharged this afternoon.
The incident was reported to police in the early hours of Sunday morning at 12.26am when a householder, named locally as Andy Ferrie reported that a group of men had broken into his home in Melton Mowbray.
Mr Ferrie stated that during the the incident he had fired a legally-held shotgun and the intruders had left the scene.
Around 5 minutes later the ambulance service called to inform police that they had been called to a man suffering from shotgun injuries.A second man admitted himself to Leicester Royal Infirmary with similar wounds, neither injuries were life threatening.
35-year-old Andy Ferrie and his wife 43-year-old Tracey have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Four men aged between 27 and 33 were arrested at the Leicester Royal Infirmary on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
Yesterday police were granted an additional 36 hours to question the six people arrested in connection with this incident which ends at 2.00am tomorrow (Wednesday).
