Reid has dual nationality as her parents are British, but she was raised in Toronto. Since 2010 she has competed for Great Britain and now trains in Loughborough. In 2008 she won bronze in the 200m T44 while representing Canada and won double bronze in 200m and long jump at the 2011 World Championships in Christchurch. Reid is a lower-limb amputee after a boating accident when she was 16 years old.
