A giant King Richard III was in Leicester city centre today as the Mayor, Sir Peter Souslby opened a one stop shop showcasing all the attractions the city has to offer.
As one of the oldest cities in England, Leicester has a wealth of beautiful historic buildings like the Jewry Wall museum, the Guildhall and the Cathedral.
The archeological dig taking place in a former council car park searching for the remains of King Richard III has prompted a huge amount of interest in the city's heritage.
But this is not just a place for tourists, the new "Visit Leicester" shop on Gallowtree Gate also sells tickets to top attractions like the Space Centre and the Curve theatre.
Speaking just before they officially opened the centres doors, Sir Peter said Leicester had hidden its cultural gems for too long, and it was time to shout about what they had to offer tourists and locals, to encourage more visitors and boost the local economy.
