A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a baby girl was found with serious injuries near to bins on a Wolverhampton estate.
Police were called to a flat on Boscobel Crescent at 6.30pm on Saturday evening (8th September) following reports a child was missing.
Police say the "very young baby" was then found nearby in the "refuse collection area" with serious injuries.
She was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
Police say the 24-year-old woman has been detained in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 32-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Police say both are related to the baby and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
