New album of Shakespeare's work released

A new album inspired by the words of William Shakespeare and read by actors, including Dame Judi Dench, will be released today in Stratford.

The album will combine original music by composer Jackie Williams with 20 tracks of the bard's best known works.

Other actors contributing include David Suchet, Emilia Fox and Dench's family, including brother Jeffery Dench and nephew, 18 year-old Oliver Dench.

On Thursday, Dame Judi and Jeffery will be signing the CD at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford.

Some of the tracks are:

  • Sonnets 30, 87 and 116 (Judi Dench)
  • Richard III, 'Now is the winter of our discontent . . .' (David Suchet)
  • The Merchant of Venice, 'The quality of mercy . . .' (Emilia Fox)
  • Hamlet, 'To be or not to be . . .'(Jeffery Dench)
  • The Tempest, 'Full fathom five . . .' (Oliver Dench)
  • As You Like It, 'All the world's a stage . . .' (Jeffery Dench)
