One of the two sisters killed in a car accident in Derbyshire on Monday (24 September) has been named by her school as 5-year-old Chantelle Keywood.

The little girl and her younger sister who was almost two, died after the car they were travelling in collided with another on Crags Road, Creswell around 4.45pm.

The girls 7-year-old sister, who was a front seat passenger, and their 29-year-old mother who was driving, survived the crash and were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained an arm injury.

It is thought the family are from Worksop in Nottinghamshire.

In a statement today the school described Chantelle as "a thoughtful and sensitive girl"

“We learnt today that last night’s fatal car accident involved children from the Priory School, Worksop.

"One of our Year 1 children, Chantelle Keywood, died in the accident along with her 22-month-old sister.

"All the Governors, staff and children have been told about the tragic events.

"As a school, we will be supporting our children and families during these difficult days. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole Keywood family and those close to them.

At school, Chantelle was a quiet, thoughtful and sensitive girl who will be greatly missed by her friends and teachers.”
