Residents in a row of terraced houses in Derbyshire had a lucky escape last night when a car left the road and ploughed into the front of several house causing extensive damage.
Police say the incident occurred at about 1.30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
A BMW 118 driven by an 18-year-old woman crashed through metal railings, hitting at least 3 houses on Nottingham Road in Borrowash, Derbyshire.
A resident in one of the houses was sat on a sofa against a wall that was hit by the vehicle and described being in a hail of bricks but was unharmed.
The driver and two female passengers were taken to Derby Royal Hospital, their injuries were not described as serious.
The landlord of the properties Carl Darby was this afternoon securing the buildings and said it was too early to tell whether the houses would need to be demolished.
