Vigil held for Malala in Birmingham City Centre
A candlelit vigil has been staged in Birmingham City Centre in support of the 14-year-old schoolgirl who was shot in the head by the Taliban, in Pakistan, last week.
Around 20 well-wishers gathered in Victoria Square to show their support for Malala Yousafzai.
She remains in a stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The vigil was organised by Women2Gether and the Amina Women's Group, both work to empower women.
Doctors at the hospital, which has a decade's experience of treating British military casualties, are now planning the reconstructive operations needed to treat her injuries
