A Derbyshire man who was caught trying to smuggle half a million pounds worth of cocaine into the UK has been jailed for six and a half years.
John Teeboon, 56, of no fixed abode but originally from Darley Dale, was arrested at Heathrow's Terminal 5 on Sunday 26th August as he stepped off a flight from Madrid, he had travelled from Peru.
Border Force officers found one of his suitcases contained bags of white powder hidden in a false bottom of his suitcase.
Teeboon admitted to attempting to import a class A drug and was sentenced yesterday (Thursday 8 November) at Isleworth Crown Court in West London.
He will also face a four-year travel ban at the end of his jail sentence.
