After an exceptionally mild but breezy night, the next front is already making its presence felt so a wet and windy start to the day.
The strongest winds and heaviest rain will mainly fall across the West Midlands this morning, gusts 35-40mph here.
The East Midlands will start windy, with light patchy rain, gusts 30-35mph.
Temperatures starting the day in double figures!
During the afternoon, the strongest winds and heaviest rain transfer eastwards, so as it all moves across, the winds in the West Midlands ease, gusts 25-30mph. Drier weather starts to develop the further west you are.
The East Midlands therefore now experience the strongest winds, gusts 35-40mph. Some moderately heavy bursts of rain too for the eastern side of the region later in the day.
Highs 12-13c 55f.
Overnight tonight, the winds relax and the front clears so some sunny breaks on Wednesday, one or two showers. 10c 50f.
Thursday sees another front pushing into the west but it might not reach us. We should see sun and cloud but it will be windy.
On Friday the front pushes eastwards slowly but weakens as it does so, so again, we may just see thickening cloud.
A mixed end to the week beckons.
